Botannix Yoga Teacher Training course is an internationally accredited

with Yoga Australia and Yoga Alliance 200 hour Teacher Training course.

Created by senior teacher Katie Rose; Botannix Yoga Teacher Training course offers an integrated approach to yoga incorporating hatha yoga practices (asana, pranayama, bandha) with jnana (scriptural studies), dhyana (meditation), bhakti (devotion) and nada (sacred sound), emphasising physical health, psychological well-being and spiritual growth as the main goals of yogic practices.

This program gives students a broad understanding of both the theoretical and practical aspects of yoga.

The course includes a comprehensive work book, teaching resources, lectures, workshops, practices, readings, written assignments, video and audio recordings; with plenty of opportunity for students to gain hands-on teaching experience to give you the confidence to use the right language and plan sequences for structuring a class.

Running in a small group format, maximum of 16 students per group, ensures each individual gets the attention and mentorship they require to feel confident in taking the next steps towards becoming an inspiring and effective yoga teacher. Botannix Yoga studio supports all students on the course. Yoga class participation at Botannix is required during your training - (A 10 class pass will be allocated to attend yoga classes at the studio).

This course is designed for people who are interested in either teaching yoga or deepening their own practice.

Sandeep Virdi

Yoga is the antidote for survival in our current times. Sandeep uses this as a foundational point cultivating a space that allows students to immerse in their own bodies, by creating a dynamic, vigorous sequence, and brining insights using the cosmic language of our living sky and using music for deep work. Sandeep fundamentally believes the practice of yoga asana is the unique platform for individual growth. It brings clarity to the individual to explore their true essence and brings people together from all walks of life with a shared interest.

Jo Day

Seventeen years ago Jo embarked on a journey of self discovery, attending a 10 day Buddhist retrea that became a annual event for over the next decade and beyond. This experience along with further Buddhism study and meditation, helped truth find her truth and heart connection.

Jo soon discovered yoga and found that when coupled with meditation, it assisted with the physical demands of being a hairstylist and Jo soon fell deeply in love with the completeness of yoga. In 2012 Jo became a proud Muma to Ziggy. Jo teaches from the heart, and is so excited to share the gift of yoga with others on and off the mat.

Teachers are the amazing part of this course. They helped to clear my confusion and my hesitation of yoga. I began to do yoga for physical purpose, while those teacher opened a spiritual door for me.

What is special about this training?

We know you have choices about where to do teacher training. The standards, content and cost vary enormously. We’re really proud of the training we’ve created and here are the reasons why:

GENUINE COMMUNITY - We’re a small and friendly studio that vibes like a family. We will get to know you and support your journey one to one.

EXCEPTIONAL FACULTY - Some of the best teachers in Australia are part of our team. We’re so proud of the caliber of education you’re going to receive.

EXPERIENCED LEAD TEACHER - Lead trainer Katie Rose has been teaching yoga for over 30 years and is a published author, Jivamukti Yoga Advanced Teacher and lifelong Bhakti Yoga devotee. You couldn’t be in better hands.

DOUBLE ACCREDITATION - We’re accredited with Yoga Alliance and Yoga Australia. It doesn’t get better than that.

SPACIOUS LEARNING TIMEFRAME - The training is thorough but not rushed. We’ve mapped it out so there will be plenty of integration time between our learning sessions together. This is a journey of preparing to teach but it’s also a personal development journey and you’ll come out the other side of it a completely transformed person.

HYBRID MODEL OF LEARNING - We meet in person and online and enjoy the best of both worlds.

HIGH-TOUCH / SMALL GROUP FORMAT - Maximum of 16 students, you’ll be supported individually and make deep friendships that last for years.

AUTHENTIC TEACHINGS - From scripture to subtle anatomy. From lineage to stories of ashrams and temples in India and everything in between. This is yoga as it’s lived, sitting in the context of absolutely honouring the roots and traditions of the teachings.

'Katie Rose is a rare teacher of tremendous depth and authenticity. The passion and wisdom with which she shares her knowledge of Yoga, Ayurveda and women’s wellness is a gift. Katie has a unique ability of demystifying big concepts and delivering teachings in a way that makes them easily accessible and personally relevant. I have learnt so much about these sciences and their practical application from Katie, and in the process, learnt so much about myself.'

Guiding principles for the Botannix Yoga Teacher Training

Our training is

ROBUST - Our curriculum is comprehensive, and thorough. You will develop your personal practice, your spiritual connection and your teaching skills with lots of opportunity to repeat, practice and get real time feedback and support as we work through the carefully curated content of the training step by careful step together.

RELEVANT - Yoga is an ancient tradition that’s thousands of years old but the magic of yoga is that it’s supremely relevant today. While we will have a strong focus on scripture and authentic, lineage based teachings we will also connect the dots to how they are relevant for you in your life now. Supporting your teacher training journey is your Bhakti Club membership which covers areas such as parenting, relationships, sadhana and spiritual activism so you can continue to be supported on this journey beyond our classroom time together.

REVERENT - Yoga is a practice grounded in the sacred and spiritual. We approach the teachings with a light-hearted and fun attitude but we also hold a deep respect and reverence for the footsteps we follow. You’ll learn about cultural appropriation and how to avoid it, we will sit in respect for First Nations teachings and their impact in yogic thinking. You’ll meditate and chant mantra and feel the sacred mood (or ‘bhav’) of yoga starting to seep into every cell of your body and every facet of your life.

  • What qualification will I get?
The teacher training is accredited with Yoga Australia and Yoga Alliance (international governing body). Upon completion and certification you will be able to register with either one of these organisations. A short online First Aid certificate needs to be completed (not included) if you plan to register as a yoga teacher and you don’t already have one. Once you’re registered with one of these bodies you can then get insurance to teach yoga publicly.
  • What is the lineage of the teacher training?
Katie Rose is the lead trainer in this teacher training and she has a teaching career spanning 30 years. She is qualified in many different lineages including Jivamukti Yoga, Kundalini Yoga and Sivananada Yoga. The idea behind this training is to ignite your passion for yoga and deepen your understanding. The main asana methodology is vinyasa (breath linked to movement and intention) but we don’t follow one specific school or lineage. You will be encouraged to think about who your own teachers are and who you are evolving into as a yogi throughout the training.
  • What if I don’t want to become a teacher?
That’s okay! Although the training is very much oriented around the skills and confidence to actually teach you’ll also love the deep dive into the world of yoga if you’re a serious student and don’t wish to go on and share. Over the years many do start out thinking they won’t teach but inevitably do end up sharing! Stay open!
  • What is the refund policy?
We put our heart and soul into this training and hold space for each and every student who moves through it. We also have limited spaces. As such we do NOT offer refunds. Once you’ve committed you’re in and we know you’re going to love the journey.
  • How much experience of yoga do I need?
It’s recommended that you’ve be practicing steadily for at least 18 months. If this is not the case please reach out to us and we can have a conversation about your specific situation. The training is not about being expert or accomplished in any specific element of yoga practice (and it’s certainly not about physical ability) but we do require a level of respect for the teachings and a deep commitment to learning more.
  • Who is the training for?
Everybody! Young, old, larger body frame, small and petite, happy, stressed, struggling with mental health challenges or anxiety … you are WELCOME. Bring it all. This is a safe place in which you can take a spacious exhale and step into healing your mind, body and energy. Bring your frazzled and overwhelmed self and we will support you into creating a life you love and a robust self-care practice. From that place we move into sharing the magic of yoga with others.
  • Can I have a chat with Katie or Danielle about the training - I have some specific or private questions?
YES of course you can. Reach out via email and we will be in touch.
  • Why would I choose this training over others?
    - Small group (You’ll get loads of personal support, we will get to know you and work with you specifically) - 30 years of experience in the yoga space (This is yoga in it’s deepest and purest form, come back to the source with us.) - Diversity and inclusion (this is a safe space for every human. We’ve had many people with diverse needs move through our trainings. All is welcome.) - Thorough training (we cover a deeply comprehensive foundation of yoga including philosophy, history, alignment, sequencing, application, subtle anatomy, pregnancy, ayurveda … you name it we cover it).
